Costa rica open for visitors

Costa Rica has announced their re-opening for tourists from all over the world starting on November 1st, 2020. Before you pack and buy tickets to go there, here are the entry requirements that you must know during the pandemic:

  • Tourists must fill out the online form called “Pase de Salud” (Health Pass). This form is available online at http://salud.go.cr. It will ask for your personal information such as name, age, nationality, passport number, and flight details.
  • Tourists are no longer required to show a negative Covid test to enter Costa Rica starting on October 26.
  • Tourists are no longer have to be quarantined for 14 days before entering Costa Rica.
  • Must have a travel insurance policy. You have to purchase travel insurance to cover the expenses in case of being infected by Covid-19 during the trip. 
  • Face coverings are mandatory in all indoor settings except when eating, while alone, or in a private home.
  • Medical coverage is required. For International insurance policies, tourists must request a certificate from their insurance company issued in English or Spanish.

Your travel insurance policies must meet the minimum requirement and approval from the Costa Rican government.  Below are some points to pay attention when purchasing for travel insurance to Costa Rica:

– Guaranteed coverage for medical expenses in case of getting infected by Covid-19 while being in Costa Rica

– The coverage must be minimum USD 50,000 

– Includes minimum coverage of USD 2,000 for the expenses of place to stay because of the pandemic.

– Lastly, your passport must be valid for the duration of stay in Costa Rica.
