Update on Indonesian Travel Restrictions

Traveling

Indonesia, known for its beautiful sunsets, delicious food, and warm sun, is starting to open its borders again to foreign travelers as the COVID-19 situation improves. However, if you’re planning to visit Bali, Indonesia, you’ll need to be aware of the updated requirements for offshore and onshore B211 Visa applicants. These new regulations are in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

To be eligible for the visa, you’ll need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, submit a statement letter committing to following all health protocols in Indonesia, and have health or travel insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 100,000. For B211 offshore applicants, particularly for a limited stay visa, you’ll also need to provide a Police Certificate of Good Conduct from your home country and a certificate from a doctor stating that you’re free from infectious diseases. It’s important to note that at this time, the B211 offshore Visa that can be issued by immigration is only for business purposes.

For expatriates applying for a B211 onshore visa (foreigners already in Indonesia), additional requirements include a statement letter committing to following health protocols in Indonesia, health or travel insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 100,000, and proof of your current Stay Permit or Exit Permit Only (EPO) documents if you’re a Limited Stay Permit holder.

As Indonesia continues to open its borders to foreign travelers, it’s important to be aware of the updated requirements for entry, including COVID-19 vaccination, a negative PCR test, and quarantine regulations. One of the requirements is to complete the Indonesian Health Alert Certificate (e-HAC) via the “Peduli Lindungi” App, which will generate a unique barcode for presentation upon arrival. Note that if you’re traveling with your family, only one account is needed.

Upon arrival in Indonesia, you’ll be required to undergo a 5-day quarantine at a designated facility at your own expense, and take two PCR tests, one on the day of arrival and the other on the fourth day. If you test positive on the second test, you’ll be required to stay in quarantine for a longer period of time at your own expense. Once completed, you’ll be able to travel domestically without the need for quarantine.

While restrictions have been relaxed, it’s important to continue following health protocols such as wearing masks, showing vaccination certification, and maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Be sure to check for updates and changes in regulations before your trip.
